Your Route to Adventure...

My safaris this year have focussed on tracking the routes of Ernest Hemingway’s safaris in Kenya and Tanzania. Often away from the main safari routes, I have travelled a vast 5000 kilometers into areas that he hunted, fished, photographed and wrote about. Hemingway’s work contributed to the creation of the whole aura of safari and all the saga, adventure and romance that goes with it, which remains the essence of safari today. The vast unequalled landscape, the incredible diversity of wildlife and the peoples of Kenya and Tanzania sustain that magic. With some of the safari notes from my fascinating journey, I hope I can help you design a safari that meets with your interests in Hemingway, East Africa, its people, culture and wildlife.
Joerg Bondzio
“I
have followed the route that Hemingway took on his first safari in Tanganyika
(1933/34) with Joerg Bondzio. It
was a difficult and demanding safari that required knowledge, preparation,
perseverance and imagination. With
a small staff we covered an enormous amount of ground and unearthed surprisingly
new material for a book on Hemingway in Africa.
The journey could not have been nearly as successful or half as much fun
without Joerg. He is a truly
responsible adventurer”
